What does an educational remediation session look like?
Students begin by engaging in a warm-up activity of their choice to get them geared up and ready to go for the session. Next, a schedule is made with the programs outlined in the student’s learning roadmap, with student input to support by-in and ownership over learning. As the student engages in each program, successes are highlighted to build self-confidence. To conclude, students self-reflect by sharing their grow and glow of the session. Session notes are shared weekly with grown-ups to track progress.
What are intensives?
H&H Learning offers intensive sessions during Summer, Winter, and Spring Break. These intensive sessions offer a unique educational opportunity, focusing on building essential underlying learning skills in a one-on-one setting, free from the added pressures of the school day. Students engage in specific programs designed to target learning objectives and goals, including reading, writing, math, executive functioning, and confidence-building. This immersive experience is tailored to each individual's needs, providing personalized attention and a supportive environment. The intensive aims to enhance fundamental skills, boost confidence, and foster a deeper understanding of core subjects. This break from the typical classroom setting allows for concentrated learning, ensuring that participants return to school with strengthened foundational skills and a renewed sense of academic empowerment.
